We are a growing organization seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, providing strategic insights, and ensuring compliance with Australian financial regulations.
Position Summary
The Finance Manager will lead our finance team and manage all aspects of the company’s financial activities, including reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting skills with business acumen and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Manage the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the executive team
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and compliance procedures
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare financial forecasts and cash flow projections
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and tax authorities
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, providing mentorship and guidance
- Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and other relevant Australian regulations
- Implement and maintain financial systems and processes to improve efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
- Prior experience in a management position supervising finance staff
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate law
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and MS Excel
- Experience with ERP systems and financial process automation

Working Hours and Arrangements
- Full-time position (38 hours per week)
- Hybrid working model with minimum 3 days in office
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during month-end close or audit periods
